Robbie Williams Brings Britpop Tour to Lima for First Time

British musician Robbie Williams will perform in Lima, Peru, for the first time in his career, staging two concerts at Arena 1 as part of his global tour supporting his thirteenth studio album, Britpop.

The concerts on September 23 and September 24 mark the singer's return to Latin America after a two-decade absence, with the artist landing in the Peruvian capital following a performance in Colombia. The first announced date in Lima has been completely sold out for months.

British band The Lottery Winners will join Williams as the special guest opening act for both shows at the coastal Arena 1 venue. The appearances come as Williams tours behind his early 2026 album release, bringing a career-spanning setlist to Peruvian audiences for the very first time.

Concert preparations and territory setlists

The team behind the live production maintains a strict pre-show ritual before taking the stage each night. Karl Brazil, who works behind the scenes on Robbie Williams' shows, told the BBC that the crew hosts a small pre-disco party prior to every performance.

Brazil explained that the team gathers in a room equipped with a custom playlist and flashing lights. He noted that by the time the group steps onto the stage, the atmosphere feels as though they have spent the evening together at a wedding reception.

Brazil also revealed that the setlist is never completely set in stone before a concert. He emphasized that ticket holders expect to hear the singer's biggest hits, requiring the production crew to tailor the song lineup specifically to each territory across Williams' three decades in music.

Based on performances across the world tour so far, Williams is expected to open his show with Let Me Entertain You and conclude the night with his signature anthem Angels. His repertoire in Lima will also feature tracks such as Rocket and Supreme.

New album and Take That legacy

The current stage of Williams' career centers on Britpop, an album released in early 2026 that the singer described as the record he originally wanted to make after departing Take That. Take That was the Manchester-formed boyband that launched Williams to global stardom in the early 1990s.

Williams has commented that the new release serves as a tribute to a golden era for British popular music. The album blends his signature pop-rock sound with nostalgia for the mid-1990s UK music scene.

Biopic and personal transformation

The Latin American tour follows the release of Better Man, a biographical film about Williams' life directed by Michael Gracey, who previously directed The Greatest Showman. More than a year after its premiere, the movie continues to frame the narrative of Williams' journey.

Born on February 13, 1974, Williams has long acknowledged the sharp ups and downs of both his music career and personal life. The film chronicles his story from early childhood through his audition for Take That, his dramatic rise as a solo artist, and his struggles with public excesses.

Better Man enjoyed a high-profile festival run, making its debuts at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado and the Toronto International Film Festival. In promotional interviews, Williams acknowledged that becoming a father marked a pivotal turning point in his adult life.

The singer explained that the world finally began making sense when he stopped fleeing from responsibility. He added that once his focus shifted away from himself and toward his children, he realized that he possessed the best job in the world.

Reconciliation with fame and diagnosis

Following the announcement of his world tour this year, Williams declared that he has reconciled with his status as a public figure because he no longer feels hunted by media intrusion.

Williams noted that press photographers no longer camp outside his door 24 hours a day, nor do intruders attempt to plant hidden microphones in his home or hack his phone. He remarked that his current life reflects what he originally envisioned when starting out at age 16.

The tour coincides with major milestone performances for Williams, who recently sang at the FIFA World Cup draw alongside Nicole Scherzinger and performed at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final with Italian singer Laura Pausini. Amid these career highlights, Williams revealed a recent neurodivergence diagnosis.

Williams stated that he has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and recently discovered he is also on the autism spectrum. He referred to the diagnosis as a personal safe-conduct, explaining that he uses it to account for his eccentric behavior.

He explained that ADHD allows him to focus 1000 percent on a single task while rendering him completely unable to focus on anything else, suggesting that observers could verify the trait with his children.

Future plans and projected setlist

Looking beyond his music tour, Williams outlined plans to establish vocational institutions. He revealed his ambition to create an entertainment university, noting that he already has a curriculum planned.

Williams stated that founding such an institution would represent a satisfying form of revenge against traditional schooling, proving that someone who left school with failing grades could enter the field and revolutionize education.
