Cerezo and Gámez married in an exclusive ceremony that attracted widespread media attention, crowning a five-year relationship. Their wedding gathered numerous high-profile guests in Spain.

Cerezo is a Spanish journalist and television contributor, while Gámez works as a telecommunications engineer. The couple maintained a low profile regarding their honeymoon plans following the public celebration of their marriage.

Travel across Spain before Asian trip

Rather than departing immediately after the ceremony, the newlyweds spent their first weeks of married life visiting various destinations across Spain. They chose to delay their main international holiday to relax after the stress of organizing their wedding.

Writing on social media, Cerezo confirmed their arrival in South Asia by posting that their adventure was beginning, tagging Nepal as their destination.

Nepal is a landlocked South Asian country situated in the Himalayas, famed for its ancient religious heritage, historic temples, and mountain landscapes. The nation attracts millions of cultural tourists each year.

The couple described their journey as an opportunity to disconnect from their daily routine, learn about local history and spirituality, taste traditional food, and strengthen their marriage bond.

Historic sights in the Kathmandu Valley

Cerezo and Gámez began their itinerary by exploring the cultural landmarks of the Kathmandu Valley, which houses some of the most prominent historic monuments in Nepal.

The Kathmandu Valley serves as the historical heart of Nepal. It contains seven clusters of historic monuments, ancient palaces, and sacred religious shrines recognized globally for their artistic and architectural heritage.

They later visited Patan, Bhaktapur, and Boudhanath, taking photos at historic spots throughout their tour of the region.

Patan and Bhaktapur are former royal cities known for their ancient courtyards, intricate wood carvings, and pagoda-style temples. Boudhanath features one of the largest spherical Buddhist stupas in the world and serves as a major center for Tibetan Buddhism.

The historic sites form part of the UNESCO World Heritage areas in the Kathmandu Valley. The couple noted their fascination with the historic architecture and ancient temples nestled in lush greenery.

Cultural sights and ongoing updates

During their visits, Gámez shared a video of the Lakhe Dance, a traditional Nepalese ritual dance, on his personal Instagram page.

The Lakhe Dance is a traditional masked dance performed by the Newar community of the Kathmandu Valley during major festivals. Dancers wearing elaborate demon masks and costumes perform energetic movements to traditional music to protect towns from evil spirits.

The couple indicated that they plan to share further updates and photos from their tour on Instagram as their getaway continues.
