The ten-episode British and American co-production releases one new episode weekly on the Paramount streaming service, with the season finale scheduled for November 20, 2026. Official translated dubbing was not provided for foreign markets at launch, though unofficial voiceover options quickly emerged online.
Ritchie currently oversees two high-profile crime series running simultaneously on major streaming services. While his television spin-off of The Gentlemen ranks at the top of Netflix viewing charts, MobLand adopts a noticeably darker and more serious tone. The Gentlemen follows the chaotic exploits of an aristocrat named Eddie with eccentric humor, including an episode where an elaborate scheme falls apart over a bird. By contrast, MobLand focuses on graphic violence, including chainsaw killings and brutal physical clashes.
The production brings together a prominent cast that includes Hardy, Brosnan, and Paddy Considine. Hardy is an English actor recognized for leading roles in major films such as Mad Max: Fury Road and Venom, while Irish actor Brosnan is famous for starring as James Bond in four films. Considine is an English actor known for his roles in House of the Dragon and Dead Man's Shoes. Ritchie, who built his career directing British gangster films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, created MobLand as a joint project between British and American studios.

At the center of the conflict was Harry, an exhausted gangland fixer struggling with escalating family and business crises while repeatedly returning to clear up violent scenes.
The second season expands the story beyond localized neighborhood feuds. The central adversary is no longer a local mob chief, but a powerful figure who hires local gangsters and rapidly forces them under his authority. Meanwhile, longstanding friction within the central crime family has deteriorated into an internal civil war.
Harry's domestic life has fractured completely after his wife ended their relationship and moved out. Her departure followed that of their daughter, who left the family home after an accidental stabbing during a domestic dispute. Before leaving, the daughter wrote a letter informing her mother that she was glad she was seeking a way out, noting that the door offered another exit, and expressing regret that her mother had not stabbed the man involved.
Escalating violence and key character dynamics
Unlike the first season, which took time to establish its story arc, the new season immediately shifts into violent conflict as characters lose control from the opening scenes. An initial negotiation involving Conrad features sharp verbal exchanges and mutual taunting set against a background of dog racing, before escalating into a sudden bloodbath that leaves a pile of corpses and demonstrates why rival factions fear him.
The narrative maintains tension across quieter character interactions throughout the opening episodes. In one sequence, Harry visits an unwanted witness and creates a frightening impression by complaining about his personal life rather than delivering direct threats. In subsequent scenes, he accurately lays out the balance of power during a meeting at his boss's residence and executes a precise tactical raid.

The character Kat McAllister operates behind the scenes in early episodes, with her criminal enforcer described as full of fury and power appearing only briefly.
