Photos of an unreleased Microsoft Surface Phone prototype dating from 2013 or 2014 have leaked online. The images show the planned appearance of the mobile device before it was canceled.
The prototype runs a pre-release build of the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. Internal hardware features an unknown Qualcomm system-on-chip, a 720p screen, a single camera, and a concise exterior design.

Canceled hardware project
Development of the model was likely paused after Microsoft acquired Nokia in 2014. The smartphone was never released to the public.
Following the failure of the Windows Phone platform, Microsoft made another attempt in the mobile market by releasing the foldable dual-screen Surface Duo, but that project also failed.
