Melanie Chisholm proved she is still Sporty Spice as she dived off a boat platform into the ocean during her honeymoon in Ibiza, days after marrying Australian model Chris Dingwall in the Lake District.
The 52-year-old singer was spotted on Saturday in a green bikini, frolicking in the water with her new husband and showing off toned abs and legs. Chris held her up in the water as she performed a plank before splashing back into the sea.
The trip also served as a birthday celebration for Chris, who turned 46 on Friday. Mel commented on his Instagram post marking the occasion, writing: “Happy Birthday husband. I love you.”
Chris shared a series of photos from the trip, posing shirtless with his bikini-clad wife aboard a boat. In an unconventional honeymoon arrangement, Mel brought her mother Joan and stepfather Dennis along, and both appeared in his Instagram album.
In his caption, Chris wrote that it had been a big week and that he was grateful to be celebrating his birthday in a special place with some of the best people he knew.
How They Met
Chris and Mel met on celebrity dating app Raya three years ago, with their first date taking place in Sydney. A year later, in July 2025, Chris proposed during a romantic getaway in Mallorca, Spain.
It was reported earlier this week that Chris is a divorcee who previously married an actress he met in his early twenties. According to insiders, that marriage ended because the couple wanted different things in life. Chris later dated fellow Australian Tamara Salamacha after a chance meeting in Barcelona, but that relationship ended around 15 years ago during a period when he was pursuing an acting career in Hollywood.
A friend described Chris as someone who keeps a low profile, particularly regarding relationships, and said he spent many years based in Los Angeles surrounded by celebrities while keeping his personal life private. The friend added that while Chris does not chase the spotlight, he has always had a draw toward media and would be happy for Mel to take centre stage.
Wedding Details
Mel had openly said for many years that she did not expect marriage to be part of her future, but said she had a change of heart after turning 50 and wanting to experience everything life has to offer. She told Vogue that when Chris proposed, she knew immediately it was the right decision.
Her wedding dress was designed by Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham, who was the only group member not to attend the ceremony. Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton were all present.
After the ceremony, Mel changed into silk palazzo pants, a cropped Adidas bomber jacket and a crop top, wearing “bride” socks and Adidas Superstar trainers printed with the wedding date. She and Chris shared a kiss outside the wedding car before heading to the Chinois Ibiza nightclub, where she performed a DJ set and tossed a replica of her wedding bouquet into the crowd.
Mel told Vogue that she was 49 when she met Chris and described the connection as immediate. She said he had been a wonderful addition to both her life and the life of her 17-year-old daughter, describing the dynamic as beautiful and noting that he fits perfectly into their world.
