Filming has officially begun on the third season of the television series Mastodont, starring actor Fyodor Dobronravov in the lead role, Russian television channel Rossiya and production companies Infinity Content and Amedia Production announced.
Production for the new season will take several months to complete. The project is scheduled for release on both television channels and digital streaming platforms after filming concludes.
Dobronravov returns as Molodtsov, an old school official who discovers he has an elder daughter living in Moscow. In the series, the character attempts to gain her trust while learning how to navigate modern technologies.
In the third season storyline, Molodtsov and Tamara are forced to pretend to be a happy couple so they can stay near their daughter. The pair also attempt to determine whether her new fiancé is a suitable match for her.
New characters and estate conflict
While staying at an estate, they meet the parents of the fiancé Danila: Sevchik, a psychologist who practices yoga, and Katya, an art therapist. The comic clash between the different principles of the two contrasting families develops alongside a serious threat, as Danila's parents face the risk of losing their home.
Elena Yakovleva and Olga Medynich return alongside Dobronravov to reprise their main roles in the upcoming season. New additions joining the cast include Vladimir Zaytsev, who starred in Commander, and Maria Poroshina, known for her role in Baba Yaga's School.
