Maren Morris has opened up about witnessing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchange wedding vows at their July 3 ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City, calling the moment “beautiful” and saying it felt like an honor to be there.
The country singer, 36, told People that the couple’s words gave guests a closer look into their love for each other and their sense of humor. She said the best part was watching the pair “just celebrating their love for each other.”
Morris noted she was one of roughly 1,000 people who witnessed the moment. She had previously spoken about receiving her invitation via a spam text message.
Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts also shared her impressions of the ceremony, telling viewers it felt personal despite the massive venue. Roberts said the vows were written in little books, and that it really was intimate.
The wedding was estimated to have cost $50 million. Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, and screens outside Madison Square Garden lit up with the words “JusT&T Married!” within seconds of the couple saying “I do.”
The reception included performances by Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Sir Paul McCartney. Both Swift and Kelce wore Christian Dior outfits designed by Jonathan Anderson, the fashion house’s creative director.
Taylor’s brother Austin Swift served as her man of honor, while Travis’s brother Jason Kelce was best man. The star-studded guest list included Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Ed Sheeran and many others.
