Travelers can protect their luggage from messy liquid spills by stretching ordinary rubber balloons over bottle caps, according to Polish media outlet Gazeta.pl.
Packing a suitcase for a trip requires travelers to fit all necessary items into their luggage while ensuring everything remains safe throughout the journey. Opening a bag after arriving to find a leaked cosmetic product is a common travel nuisance that can ruin nearby belongings. Liquid items such as shampoo, shower gel, perfume, and sunscreen can leak out during travel, staining clothes, towels, and vanity cases.
How to fit a balloon seal
An ordinary party balloon can serve as an extra layer of protection for liquid containers, helping seal packaging more tightly to reduce leakage risks. The method works on bottles of various sizes, from small perfume bottles to larger containers of shower gel and sunscreen.
Travelers choose a balloon matching the size of the bottle neck and cut it near the opening, approximately two centimetres from the edge. The cut rubber section is then stretched over the bottle cap or stopper.
The elastic rubber tightly wraps around the closure point, applying extra pressure to contain potential leaks. Smaller balloons suit small bottles with narrow tops, while larger balloons stretch over wider caps.

Cutting vacation expenses
The packing hack follows previous guidance reported by news agency UNIAN on saving money during holidays. UNIAN noted that extra travel costs often mount up imperceptibly, as expensive services, impulse purchases, lodging, and transport gradually push up total trip expenditure.
The news agency stated that travelers can avoid many of these unnecessary expenses simply by familiarizing themselves with basic budgeting rules before embarking on their journey.
UNIAN, officially known as the Ukrainian Independent Information Agency, is a major news agency operating from Kyiv, Ukraine.
