Livadi: The Ideal Base for a Serifos Holiday

Livadi, the port of Serifos, combines Cycladic charm with practical convenience: beaches on foot, all essential services, and regular buses to the rest of the island.

Livadi: The Ideal Base for a Serifos Holiday

Livadi is the first thing visitors see arriving at Serifos, a bay on the island’s southeastern side that serves as the center of its tourist and nightlife scene.

Approaching by boat, travelers see white cubic houses, fishing boats and sailboats at the dock, and the imposing Chora perched like a crown on a cliff above. Livadi lies just 5 kilometers from Chora, linked by road or a traditional stone path for walkers.

Several beaches are within walking distance. Livadi beach, also known as Avlomonas, is a wide golden shore with shallow clear water and tamarisk trees for natural shade, lined with beach bars and tavernas. Livadakia, on the south side of the settlement behind the harbor cape, has fine sand, draws families and campers, and is home to the island’s organized campsite.

The settlement provides all basic services including pharmacies, ATMs, vehicle rentals, mini markets and a post office. Regular local buses connect Livadi to Chora and the island’s other beaches, making a car unnecessary for most of the trip.
