And I also discovered that minced meatballs can be much more diverse than we’re used to. Moreover, they are found not only in Scandinavian cuisine, but in almost every decent kitchen. MOS
Since meatballs are a popular Scandinavian dish, we decided to look for them in northern restaurants first. And found! MOS is served with wild boar meatballs (and this is the same as meatballs, only larger), served with cream sauce as a gravy for them, and glazed potatoes are a side dish. We believe it is necessary to do a tasting to compare with the IKEA “original”!

Lumicino
The tuna dumplings in William Lamberti’s restaurant have an adventurous story.
Wandering around Palermo, William and his wife, Olga, found themselves near the famous fishing district of Ucherrio. They were hungry but could not find an open restaurant. They asked the clerk at the newsstand where they could have lunch. And not only did he say it, he personally led them – and right in the heart of this very prosperous neighborhood! William began to get nervous, but eventually the newspaper salesman took them to a typical homemade Italian cafe, introduced William and his wife as relatives from Russia, and asked them to pretend to be their own.
The cuisine turned out to be wonderful, and the tuna meatballs were especially good – this is how they appeared on the Lumicino menu, where they were prepared according to the recipe of the kind people from Palermo and served with broccoli and tomato sauce.

Saperavi Cafe
If you don’t eat meat, there is a meatball option at Saperavi Cafe. Here they make large patties from the most popular Georgian porridge – corn elarji – and serve them with hazelnut bagels. Another variety of dumplings is called tashmijabi with gebzhalia – they are made from Svan mashed potatoes with suluguni and served with green adjika and mint matsoni.
The children’s menu includes classic chicken patties in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes or french fries.
