But now the pair have provided a much-requested update while filming themselves with Ancestry’s 23andme DNA Test Kits.
They said “the time has come” and asked their followers to wish them well in the caption before filling the saliva tubes to send for testing.
The latest video amassed over 35,000 likes, with people commenting on their predictions for the outcome in six weeks.
One user wrote: “It will be absolutely positive”.
Another added: “It must have been a while that you are literally twins.”
A third said, “If it’s positive, at least you’ll have your sister to comfort you.”
A quarter commented: “The suspense of the next 6 weeks it will take to get results will be tough for all of us.”
The original reveal video garnered 5.6 million views, women, both brunettes, lip sync audio saying, “Funny yeah. But not funny ‘haha’, funny weird.”
Carley and Mercedes wore similar natural makeup, stating in the viral video, “When you find out two years after dating, your mom slept with the same guy.”
