Queen Máxima of the Netherlands looked very amused when she visited the savings and loan associations of CARE in Abobo, a suburb of the capital Abidjan.

The 50-year-old monarch looked casual, dressed in every shade of blue as she attended several interviews at the Ivory Coast city’s Ministry of Economy and Finance.

She opted for gray loafers and stayed true to the theme with blue sunglasses, a blue clutch with a silver chain, and blue and navy blue tassel earrings.

The royal looked energetic with her blonde hair slicked back and down.

The trip will be Queen Máxima’s first personal “country visit” as UNSGSA since pre-pandemic.

The West African region is a priority target for UNSGSA’s efforts to strengthen financial and digital inclusion as well as financial health, following virtual visits to both Ivory Coast and Senegal in 2021.

Working closely with key leaders and stakeholders in each country, UNSGSA aims to support an overarching set of financial priorities and meet local customers who use and benefit from financial services and products.

Both countries have the opportunity to pave the way for financial inclusion in West Africa, with growth driven by digital payments.

As a result, both have the potential to become leaders in the region.

As part of a recent initiative, CARE has partnered with Advans microfinance to offer VSLAs and their members the opportunity to enroll in digital financial services.

Today, Queen Maxima in Ivory Coast had the opportunity to meet several members of VSLA, a group of 25 women living in Abobo, a suburb of the capital Abidjan.

The mother of three was seen dancing and laughing with the group of women she met today.

This came after meeting with the head of the European Central Bank in Amsterdam last week.

It happened when the eldest daughter of the royal family announced that she was enrolled at the University of Amsterdam and will live in a shared house with ordinary students.

Princess Amalia, the 18-year-old heir to the throne, has announced that she will study political science, psychology, law and economics at the University of Amsterdam from September for £3,750.

The trip will be Queen Máxima’s first personal “country visit” as UNSGSA since the pandemic.

During her studies, the princess moves into a rented house with other students.

A post on the royal court’s Instagram account claimed that her time at the university was considered “private”.

“The Orange Princess will start in September with a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) from the University of Amsterdam,” the court statement said.

The announcement revealed that the princess had applied for her diploma and went through the same exam and application process as other students.
