Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the “Squid Game” series, shared news that will please the fans of the project. He told Variety that a third season will likely be announced “soon.”
“Anything I say at this point could be a spoiler, so I want to be careful. However, I can say that after the release of the second season, I think we will announce the release date of the third season soon,” said the producer.
Hwang Dong-hyuk also revealed that the sequel to the “squid game” will probably be released in the summer or autumn of 2025.
The director previously admitted that the reason he shot the second season was money. Moreover, he still had something to tell the audience. “Although the first series was a huge success worldwide, I honestly didn’t earn that much. So the second series will help me make up for the success of the first series. “And I haven’t finished the story,” he said.
