The 62-year-old actor shaved his head for his role in Sonic 3. Jim Carrey explained why he made such a sacrifice, even though he had previously promised to quit acting in movies.
The artist talked about his plans to retire and return to film in 2022 only if “suddenly the angels bring me some kind of script written in golden ink.” In an interview with the Associated Press, the Hollywood star admitted that he was exaggerating the issue a bit.
It turned out that the reason for Jim Carrey’s return to the screen was quite ordinary. “I came back to this cinematic universe because I can portray a genius there. “And you know, I spent a lot of money, I need the money to be honest,” he said.
In Sonic 3, the player just plays the usual Dr. He not only plays Robotnik, but also Sonic’s new nemesis, Professor Gerald Robotnik. This character is also a mad scientist obsessed with the idea of destroying the world and avenging the death of his wife, for whom he created Shadow the Hedgehog.
Keep in mind that Jim Carrey has not starred in any large-scale projects in the last 10 years, other than the Sonic trilogy, and has only appeared in two seasons of the TV series Kidding, the indie detective True Crime, and the horror movie The Bad Batch.
