“People are free only in dreams! This has always been the case and will always be so.” This phrase belongs to John Keating, one of the main characters of the movie Dead Poets Society, and perfectly describes our material. Which of us in our childhood, as the older generation would say, “had his head not in the clouds” and had the world in his head? Dreams often become a catalyst for action, and success stories start from them, about which legends and books are written.
However, many people overlook an important point: It is not enough to dream about your idea to bring it to life. We don’t want to destroy your castles in the air, but thoughts are only material when you move from idea to action, which is sometimes not that easy. That is why today we decided to turn to knowledgeable people – winners of the Leaders of Russia competition, members of the Elbrus club and experts of the Dreamer Index competition, which helps young talents realize their dreams, Fedor Kroshin and Ksenia Solousova. They’ve compiled a list of seven healthy habits that will help you get closer to realizing your dreams.
However, before moving on to habits, we cannot help but talk about the project itself. “Dreamer Index”, created with the support of the Presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities”, aims to help young people realize their ideas and turn them into social projects. Participation in the competition helps you determine the rules of your personal development, develop important skills, form a life position and expand your horizons. The project offers the opportunity to receive grants to bring their ideas to life, and participants are supported at every stage by professionals representing the presidential platform.
A clear plan helps you focus on what’s important, avoid procrastination, and achieve your goals faster. It is a powerful tool that reduces stress and increases productivity. Make a to-do list every day and add up all the tasks that need to be completed in a day: cleaning the house, writing a plan, or exercising. This will help you organize things in your head and make room for important things.
Surround yourself with things that can bring you not only benefit but also pleasure. For example, fresh flowers or coffee. Believe me, it is always more pleasant to reach your destination when there is a quiet island.
Regular exercise improves health, improves mood and increases self-confidence, good company in the gym energizes and creates an atmosphere of mutual support, balanced nutrition energizes, improves digestion and helps the body recover faster. Remember, you can’t be productive if you don’t feel 100%.
You need to rest after work. Try to instill the habit of spending time alone with yourself. This will help you think about what happened during the day and transition from work to home.
Before introducing something new into your life, always test it in practice: you need to try to feel all the emotions you are experiencing at that moment and hear if there is a “ding” inside. If yes, then this is your dream. By the way, all participants of the “Dreamer Index” project will be able to test their ideas “for strength” together with a team of professionals. And the best of the best will be able to receive a grant to implement a social project related to their dreams.
If you make a promise, it must be fulfilled. If you feel like you can’t deliver on what you promised, don’t gloss over the problem, discuss it with the person who gave you the task and offer options on how to improve the situation. If “delays” occur frequently and become a habit, think about why you are promising the impossible.
Teach yourself to say: “Yes, I messed up, but that doesn’t deprive me of the chance to do it differently tomorrow and correct the mistake.” You should not engage in thinking and soul searching. The same principle works when someone else makes a mistake; Do not scold right away, instead analyze the reasons and find a way out of the situation. And most importantly, remember: “The rain does not rain on you, it just falls.” It is unlikely that someone or something holds a grudge against you. The world is not perfect and that’s for sure.
We hope these simple but effective habits will help you get closer to realizing your dreams and create a clear guide to achieving your goals. To consolidate the result, we recommend that you take a test and find out whether you can realize your dream right now.
