Hell’s Summer co-stars Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk have signed on to write a remake of the 1999 horror comedy The Killer Hand. The upcoming project will be produced by Jason Reitman. Variety reported this.
Wulfhard and Bryk are also thought to direct the film. This follows the sales of festival hit Hell’s Summer, which they co-wrote, directed, starred in and produced.
“Finn and Billy have achieved success in their directorial debut, delivering a completely original take on The Killer Hand that appeals to a disaffected generation. “We are excited to support them as they bring their unique perspectives to the big screen and summon demons,” says Reitman.
The original movie follows the story of a lazy teenager who becomes obsessed with killing someone. Young actors are trying to bring a new breath to youth cinema and preserve its originality. “Our main conversation was about how frustrating it is to watch new teen movies and how poorly our age group is represented,” Wolfhard said.
The first teaser of the final season of Stranger Things, starring Finn Wolfhard, was released the other day. See here.
