The 36th season of The Simpsons started with the news of the series’ cancellation. Characters and guest stars met with series writer Conan O’Brien at his farewell party.

“I’m honored to be with you for the series finale of The Simpsons.” I knew I was the right person for the job… That’s it. “The Simpsons is over,” said show writer Conan O’Brien.

Throughout the episode, viewers saw clips from many episodes of the series. O’Brien noted that most of these were indeed intended to be definitive. But then the show went on.

In addition to the main characters, the series also featured animated versions of guest stars. These included John Cena, Danny DeVito, Seth Rogen, Mark Proksch, Amy Sedaris and Tom Hanks.

To add to the nostalgic confusion, this episode was supposed to have Bart Simpson turning 11, which is basically impossible according to the laws of the Simpsons universe. Over all these years, the characters haven’t grown, except for moments where they’re shown glimpses of their possible futures.

At the moment when Homer Simpson’s son was supposed to extinguish the candles, he refused to do it, after which the narrative was restarted and the audience realized that they had participated in another joke of the creators of the cult series. But each joke can contain only a hint of humor. In fact, there has been no talk yet about The Simpsons continuing into season 37.

Recently, residents of the program made jokes about the closure of the Comedy Club. His statements were very popular, but after a while the audience realized that they were being played.
