An ideal morning is always accompanied by a delicious and filling breakfast. One cannot exist without the other, and there is nothing to argue with that. And breakfast in general has a special place in every foodie’s religion. Moreover, some dishes are truly worth waking up early and heading into town to find the perfect option.
If you don’t know where to start, come to the BreakFest festival, which will continue throughout January not only in Moscow but also in 12 other cities of Russia. Among them, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa, Sochi, Tyumen and Yaroslavl. Three cities – Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk and Voronezh – participated in the winter festival for the first time, and another – Rostov-on-Don – returned to it after a short break.
Restaurants participating in the festival have prepared special breakfast menus at fixed prices of 450 and 750 rubles in four categories: eggs, dairy products, cereals and bakery products.
The author of this text put aside Olivier during the January holidays and replaced all New Year’s salads with Moscow breakfasts. Let’s talk about the five best of them.
People
Folk, the modern Caucasian cuisine restaurant, started serving early breakfast from eight in the morning last year. So, if you are one of those people who always miss their first meal at a cafe due to work schedule, now you know where to look for it. As part of the festival, the restaurant prepared a four-course set: zucchini-aveluk potato pancake, mini lahmajun, quinoa with prunes and hazelnuts, and matsoni crepe.

Dr. Zhivago
We don’t know which other Moscow restaurant competes so closely with the winter festival BreakFest. Zhivago. Everything is perfect here: from authentic Soviet cuisine to one of the best views of Red Square. That’s why we advise all Slavic Bimbos to put on red lipstick, curl their hair and head there for breakfast. Moreover, this year’s breakfast festival includes the famous big pancake with trout, lazy meatballs and cheesecake. For true gourmets, the menu includes millet porridge with crayfish tails.

Touch
This time, Touché wine bar has prepared four dishes for the festival in various categories, from porridge to dessert. Therefore, in January you will be able to try buckwheat with boiled eggs and caviar, tiramisu with oatmeal and croissant with sturgeon cream and eggs. If you still have room for dessert, be sure to order their carrot plum cake with ice cream. And may the belly festival in January last forever.

Cutta Cutta
If you haven’t been to the “cave” of Glen Ballis yet, the breakfast festival is a great reason to head there. This is Cutta Cutta’s first BreakFest, so you definitely won’t find any ordinary positions there. Our favorites this season are semolina mousse, truffle fried eggs and cottage cheese with jam. For those with a sweet tooth, they serve excellent curd buns. We will consider the issue of diet in general later.
Address: Bolshoi Kozikhinsky, 10
Sapiens

If the holiday is not over yet, we do not recommend you to participate in this brutal working regime. Moreover, the breakfast festival even forces you to slow down a little and truly enjoy the start of the day, not just on the go. Therefore, the best plan for the day looks like this: We gather a group of friends and go to have breakfast in the quietest part of Moscow, where the trendy Sapiens are located. Let’s be honest, this place is a must visit when you want to slow down and forget about the existence of Moscow noise at least for a while. So you can’t find a more ideal restaurant for a breakfast festival. The set menu included our favorite items: salmon with avocado, hashbrown with eskiguni, and baked mozzarella on crispy toast. If you’re in a healthy mood, order the fried egg with prosciutto and millet porridge with squid.
