Wake up and eat: where and what to have breakfast in Moscow in July

Wake up and eat: where and what to have breakfast in Moscow in July

Why do you want to get up early in the morning? For a million dollars? Balloon dresses from the last Jacquemus fashion show? Ideal abs after training? Delicious breakfast?

If you can only imagine the first three points, then breakfasts break themselves in Russian restaurants. Between 1 July and 31 July, the first of the Breakfest summer festival will be held in 11 cities and 300 institutions.

For several years it was just winter, and for those who have not gone anywhere to spend the winter, January has lit up, but this year it is happening in the summer for the first time. All restaurants prepare food in 4 categories – eggs, cereals and cereals, dairy products, pastries and sweets – at fixed prices of 450 and 750 rubles and offer to accompany it with sparkling, like any aristocratic breakfast!

The Fashion Vibes columnist Anya Baturina and part-time ambassador for delicious Breakfest breakfasts for the month of July reviewed all the festive menus and compiled a list (in alphabetical order) of 15 places in Moscow you should go to in July. Overall, we recommend getting up early to eat more!

AQ Kitchen

The chefs of the AQ Kitchen restaurant, Adrian Ketglas and Anton Tikhiy, have recently updated the menu and created a complete gastronomic journey from summer novelties to bright flavors. On the way, you should definitely stop by for gazpacho with suluguni ice cream, green pea hummus with chicken bacon and cold mulberry soup with ice duck.

And in parallel with the updates, the chefs have developed a festive breakfast menu that can only be enjoyed in July. They have a tempting shakshuka with crab (and Ketglas has no regrets about it), healthy coconut milk quinoa, and mini pancakes – because of how nice and small they are, the hand immediately reaches out to order a second serving.

Time: 11:00 – 14:00 on weekdays, 11:00 – 16:00 on weekends

Address: Bolshaya Gruzinskaya st., 69

blank

Remember when the name of this cozy Tel Aviv restaurant translates as “to do it secretly”? Apparently that’s the only thing chef Alexander Arkhipov can’t do—because there’s no way to hide a great breakfast collaboration with La Poste. At the crossroads of the projects, 3 items on the menu were born at once – a croissant with merguez sausage and egg, asparagus and goat cheese, and just a classic but date iced latte. Good idea to strengthen your position at the festival and win the pastry prize!

In addition to the croissants on the menu, there is green oatmeal with asparagus and Dukka nut spice and an absolutely incredible toasted milk donut (ie challah) with sour cream and strawberry frappe (apparently you’re eating very dense ice cream).

Time: 10:00 – 15:00

Address: 3. Yamskogo Polya, 2, bldg. 3

capito

At the beginning of summer, the Capito restaurant celebrated its fourth anniversary and seriously updated its menu. Now it is ideal for those who have wanted to go to the Mediterranean for a long time but missed the whole holiday. They have a variety of dishes with shrimp and asparagus, a new set of three bruschettas for snacking, tonnato pastrami with radish and lots and lots of vegetables.

By the way, there are references to these updates in the Breakfast festival menu. For example, vitello tonnato oatmeal and wood-fired truffle tortilla with asparagus, ricotta, and poached egg. And here’s the perfect end to breakfast, so that everything will be fine throughout the day – cereals and chocolate milk with strawberries – as if mom kissed him on the forehead and wished him luck.

Time: 12:00 – 17:00

Address: 3. Yamskogo Polya, 2, bldg. 12

Champion Bistro

Champ Bistro chef Arina Zhuravleva, along with brand chef Taras Kiriyenko, worked some magic in the kitchen and prepared four new dishes for the festival in different categories: eggs, cereals, dairy and pastries. But it is interesting that the chefs in the kitchen can create dishes on the border, each referring to the neighboring category. There’s also a puff pastry tart with homemade ricotta, fresh potatoes, porcini mushrooms, and a poached egg. And buratta, milk toast with peas, arugula, seasonal cherries and guacamole with pistachio sauce. A slice of warm bread pudding with orange caramel sauce, anglaise cream with condensed milk, chocolate cake and baked milk ice cream.

It’s amazing how creative Arina and Taras are when it comes to breakfast, as the restaurant regularly hosts themed long breakfasts on weekends ranging from Greek to Belarusian.

Hours: 09:00 – 14:00 on weekdays, 09:00 – 16:00 on weekends

Address: Neglinnaya st., 14, building 1A

melt

The festive breakfast menu at Erti, a modern Georgian cuisine restaurant, is suitable for the geography of the region. Yes, and the composition is quite original. For example, “Gold of the Caucasus” is an authentic apricot puree popular with climbers (served with fresh carrot juice – and this already looks like a tribute to Moscow fashionistas), “Gifts of Batumi” is a strawberry croissant. and glasses of coffee, but “Kazbek Treasures” were served aristocratic immediately with a glass of sparkling wine.

Time: 9:00 – 12:00 on weekdays, 9:00 – 15:00 on weekends

Address: Stremyanniy lane, 11

Erwin Mansion

If you woke up in the mood for “breakfast on the water”, the Erwin Pavilion restaurant is suitable for such an occasion. It is better to take a table on the porch of the pontoon, it will swing a little there. And if you look at the water and the swans, you might believe you’re actually swimming somewhere.

The festive breakfast menu was a hit this summer – a croissant with strawberries and Pavlova cream (it has so many strawberries in it that the vendors at Danilovsky market can’t sell it in one day). Cottage cheese scrambled with sockeye caviar and truffles, millet porridge with crab and orange oil, raspberries and ranch sour cream – overall, everything is upscale and secular as it should be at Patricks.

Time: 09:00 – 14:00

Address: Bolshoy Patriarchy Lane, 5

in the crowd

The road to Kalabasa on Baumanskaya Street is definitely known to those who are fond of sweets, the restaurant has five types of Napoleon and even more honey cakes (not counting macarons and other sweets). And for the rest, we recommend changing your usual morning route to stop by and get to know the establishment. There are four special dishes on the breakfast menu. There are many “salty” positions among them. For example, a very unusual cottage cheese with hollandaise sauce, the author’s “reassembled” version of shakshuka and the familiar buckwheat porridge with boiled eggs and parmesan mousse.

Of course, they also did not refuse desserts – for the festival they prepared a Basque cheesecake, which looks like a soft cottage cheese casserole with strawberry sauce and fresh fruits.

Hours: 9:00 – 16:00 on weekdays, 10:00 – 16:00 on weekends

Address: emb. Academician Tupolev, 15, bldg. 26

burgundy

Maroon restaurant chef Vladimir Bozhavets came to the festival with a special breakfast menu. Of course, Serkan Bolata does not make any promises, but a complete immersion in the morning rhythms of Istanbul can happen. Start with quinoa porridge with berry tartare and ripe mango and for dessert you must try the coconut cake with whipped vanilla cream and fresh fruits.

For conservatives, the menu includes the timeless Maroon classic – baked eggplant and feta shakshuka.

Time: 10:00 – 16:00

Address: Kutuzovsky prospekt, 2/1s6

mode

Andrey Zhdanov, the chief of Khamovnikov, the place of power, also invites you to the festive breakfast. He planned to serve the guests millet porridge with pumpkin, excellent cheesecakes with cheese mousse, strawberry glass tart and coconut ice cream. And even the hungriest person who eats a meatless breakfast will get a spinach steak.

If you come here on a sunny day, you can choose one of three verandas for breakfast: a secluded French-style patio, a roof terrace overlooking the skyscrapers of Moscow city and the old lanes of the Plyushchikha district, or a large, intertwined veranda. cluster

Time: 10:00 – 15:00

Address: 1st per. Workers, 6

Touche Wine bar and kitchen

Taras Kiriyenko, the chef of the wine bar in Trekhgorka, hospitably prepared the four authors’ meals for the long July breakfasts. The menu includes “Turkish eggs” with tzatziki sauce, cottage cheese with citrus and honey (a special treat – in honeycombs!), passionfruit cream croissant (comes with cherries, strawberries, blueberries and even ice cream).

But special attention should be paid to porridge, even if you did not like it before. Perlotto is prepared in the style of risotto with the addition of mascarpone and parmesan, but it is based on barley, not rice. But the most interesting part is that it is served with prosciutto ice cream!

Hours: 09:00 – 14:00 on weekdays, 09:00 – 16:00 on weekends

Address: Rochdelskaya st., 15, building 22

zoo beer and grill

The family restaurant overlooking the Moscow Zoo is perfect for family breakfast. The festive menu is for a typical Sunday morning: mini cheesecakes with strawberries and boiled condensed milk for the kids, healthy green buckwheat with stracciatella and nectarines for mom, and dad gets an omelet with stracciatella and lightly salted salmon (and everyone has a glass of sparkling wine, except the kids) .

By the way, the festive menu is served here until 6 pm – convenient if you catch breakfast for lunch.

Time: 11:00 – 18:00

Address: Konyushkovskaya st., 34, building 1

Height 5642

Vysota 5642 restaurant has one of the most extensive menus of this festival! Eleven positions on what you can eat for breakfast, even an experienced housewife does not have enough imagination for this. Three types of eggs, three types of cereals and five dishes at once in the category of “dairy products” – from homemade cottage cheese with honey and raisins to cheesecake or fluffy cheesecake.

In general, the menu looks appetizing and impressive, most likely you will have to come here several times to try all the dishes.

Time: 08:00 – 12:00 on weekdays

Address: Bolshoy Cherkassky per. 15/17s1

People

For the festival at Public, chef Artem Sipugin has updated the brunch menu and added new items inspired by seasonal produce and morning classics.

For those who like something more hearty, there’s an English muffin with hollandaise sauce and a ham or salmon omelet. For those who oscillate between the classics and the experiments, there is the legendary bacon jam and sour cream and potato pancakes. And for those who are fond of dessert, rice porridge with ice cream and banoffee topped with fresh fruits and boiled condensed milk and banana.

Time: 12:00 – 15:00

Address: Staraya Basmannaya st., 18, building 4

#SiberianSiberian

Good hearty breakfast with Siberian nuances. In the morning they do not offer lard and venison (it is worth staying until lunch), but on the menu there is the classic Guryev porridge with jam from spruce cones, dumplings with blueberries and honeysuckle, and even a soft overseas shu, loved and loved by Russians. heart ryazhenka cream and strawberries.

The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Azimut Hotel, so I would like to see the reaction of foreign guests to such a Russian breakfast.

Time: 9:00 – 16:00

Address: Smolenskaya str., 8

Starling!

In a beautiful cafe on Malaya Bronnaya, breakfasts are already served all day, but it is much more interesting to look at the imagination of the chef in terms of the festive menu. With asparagus, bacon, and brisket, there was a spot for Sunday millet kulsh, French toast with cherry, caramel, and butter cream (it has already become a Moscow classic after Benedict and syrniki), asparagus with poached eggs, and the unusual savory syrniki with sweet potatoes. suluguni and tarragon sour cream.

Wondering which breakfasts will be more popular in July – traditional for Starling! or new ones invented for breakfast? I wish these magic cheesecakes were on the menu later.

Hours: 10:00 – 14:00 on weekdays, 10:00 – 18:00 on weekends
