A few weeks ago, a Twitter user shared a screenshot of an ad taken from a pet adoption center in New Jersey on his profile. The post included a photo of a cat named Fishtofer, described by shelter staff as “very sad and depressed.”

The tweet gained nearly 200,000 likes and over 20,000 retweets over the weekend alone. And some users of the social network even shared photos of their pets, hoping that someone will protect Fishtofer.

Soon luck smiled at the “depressed” cat. A girl named Laura Folts and her boyfriend, Tanner Callahan, applied to the center’s website and went to another state to be first in line that same day.
“About eight-nine out of 10 people who came to the bunker were there for Fishtofer. We were lucky that we were the ones who took her home, ”says the girl.

Now the cat is getting used to life in a new place. And the owners are doing everything possible to adapt to the house as soon as possible. Laura has created social media accounts for Fishtofer and it looks like she has a great future ahead of her.
