Not so long ago, the shooting of the new series “Monastery”, directed by Alexander Molochnikov, with Nastya Ivleeva in the lead role, was completed. The idea for the project belongs to Alexandra Remizova, showrunner of “Trigger” and “Patient Zero”. Molochnikov mentioned this in a new interview with Yuri Dudyu*. The director explained why they chose Ivleeva to play the main role in a dramatic story.
“Because in this role, it seemed to me that he would be the best fit of all the other candidates. There are a lot of artists out there who would play it well and I can only imagine what it’s like. And it was interesting to take someone you did not understand how to play, ”said Molochnikov.
The drama series “The Monastery” tells the story of Maria, a girl accustomed to a “luxury” life in Dubai without any restrictions and difficulties. But suddenly the hero gets into trouble and now faces a prison in the Arab metropolis. Therefore, he decides to flee from noisy Dubai to the Russian countryside, where he stays in a monastery.
“My Maria is not a complicated but lost person. I was very happy when I was offered this look because this time it wasn’t about an easy character or a role where you had to play yourself, I had a feeling this could be serious and interesting work. Maria does not intersect with me neither childhood nor fate – she is completely different, ”says Nastya Ivleeva.
The abbey will only be published in Kinopoisk. Before its official release, the series will be screened at the New Season online cinema festival, which will be held in Sochi from September 18-23.
