The taxi driver heroically rescued people from a burning house while carrying out an order. On the way to the airport, 54-year-old Fritz Sam noticed a fire in the window of an apartment in Brooklyn, New York. The passenger asked writer and presenter Jemima James Way to stop, and of course she agreed. The driver, who got out of the vehicle, rushed to help the citizens.

A fire broke out in one of the apartments of the four-story building, a large number of residents managed to evacuate immediately. It was 8am so people outside had to scream so the sleeping tenants could wake up and leave the building faster. Neighbors convinced taxi driver Fritz Sam that no one was staying in the house, but he decided to make sure and rushed into the burning building.
“I felt my responsibility. I had to do something. “It’s not my family, it’s someone else’s family,” Fritz Sam told Washington Post reporters.

When he entered the house, he found a woman and a man there. He managed to evacuate the latter easily, but the woman flatly refused to leave her apartment. She had to persuade him (by blackmail) and they left the building together. Soon the fire department arrived, and the driver himself returned to the vehicle and drove his client to the airport. And by the way, she did not even miss her flight. A true hero!
