Angelina Jolie has sued the FBI to continue the investigation into her ex-husband Brad Pitt. The case concerns an incident that occurred in 2016. Then the FBI became involved in the investigation of the conflict between Jolie and Pitt on a private cruise ship. The actress accused her husband of physical abuse against her adopted son Maddox, who was 15 at the time. Evidence of Brad’s guilt was not found at the time, and the initiation of a criminal case was denied.

In April of this year, Politico published a short story about a judge refusing to file an anonymous FOI case. Plaintiff asked the FBI to hand over documents pertaining to allegations that the plaintiff’s then-husband had “physically and verbally abused” her and her children while traveling in a private jet “several years ago”. The article suggested that the plaintiff was Angelina Jolie and that her “husband at the time” was Brad Pitt. Now, Puck sources have confirmed that the lawsuit was actually filed by Jolie.

According to Puck’s report, Jolie told an FBI agent several years ago that Pitt “physically and verbally abused” her and her children while on the plane. Pitt allegedly took Jolie to the back of the plane, grabbed her by the shoulders and yelled something like “You’re ruining this family,” according to records of the agent at the time.

Jolie claimed that another physical fight on the same flight also caused her injuries, including an elbow injury. She also said that Pitt was drunk at the time and spilled beer on her, she said. The actor’s team later denied all allegations. Soon after, Pitt and Jolie filed for divorce.

In August, Jolie’s case was amended to state that “information held by the Justice Department and the FBI contains evidence of harm” and that “persistent refusal to provide this information harms children.”

TMZ sources close to Brad say he believes Angelina knew about the case and filed a FOIA lawsuit only to get the press to talk again about the allegations against Pitt.

Peace between ex-spouses has not been established for a long time, and one lawsuit follows another. The actors still cannot agree on the custody of the children. Recently, a conflict broke out over a French winery: Jolie sold her stake to the company of Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler, which Pitt strongly opposed. But he could not challenge the agreement – the court sided with Jolie.
