Bella Hadid’s every appearance is caught in the eyes of the cameras and is discussed by fashion critics. And if stylists immediately add most of the model’s appearance to the “Saved” section, then, of course, there is a minority. Subscribers ranked one of Bella’s last outings in the second category – ruthlessly attacking the outfit in a matter of hours. And very vain.

The model chose a cropped top, striped-accented Bermuda denim shorts and a Jean Paul Gaultier x Supreme belt, a Louis Vuitton bag, and pointed square-toe Fidan Novruzova high black boots for a stroll around New York. Okay, the combination cannot be called ordinary (especially in the context of summer heat). Subscribers, here’s how not to wear the trendy shorts of the season. We disagree with them for three reasons.
The first is the “two balls in one” technique. The idea is as simple as possible, but no less interesting – a kind of sports bra with no hint of squats next. Second, those “terrible” shorts with accent inserts triumph today’s gender-neutral fashion dominance. And by the way, we have a pretty important reveal ahead of us: Bella seemed to borrow Bermuda shorts from her boyfriend, but she beat them in a very organic way. Slowly but surely, fashion is breaking free from gender shackles, and we’re always seeing evidence today—at least, get Brad Pitt’s latest release with a skirt.

The third and final reason is sharp square-toed boots from the Moldovan brand Fidan Novruzova. The work of Fidan Novruzova, a graduate of the Central Saint Martins cradle of designers, has been actively followed by fashion minds since 2019 – buyers and stylists literally stood in line for shoes from the graduation collection. The fashion designer was born in Chisinau and his family is in Azerbaijan. For this reason, the colors of the two countries are closely intertwined in the Fidan collections – references to folk costumes, details in the form of grave flowers. The designer’s shoes cannot be called feminine, which once again emphasizes the deliberate masculinity of the image of Bella Hadid.
There are two types of images. We are the first to be inspired, we save, we seek trends from them. The latter, more rare, carries a specific expression. You can argue for a long time that Bella never thought about how “terrible” a tandem of Bermuda shorts and high boots would look. It is enough to look at the image from a different angle and read between the lines – global fashion statements are more durable and useful in the future than the one hundred and fifth fashionable fuchsia shade of the season.
