Each of us reacts differently to the departure of foreign brands: someone is upset that he can no longer buy jeans of his favorite brand, someone is looking for alternative stores, and someone thinks that Western retailers will still regret leaving Russia, because this decision will cost them dearly.

Journalists from Kommersant discovered that foreign brands could lose up to $800 million if they left the market altogether. Inditex (which includes Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius and Oysho) has the biggest risks – it could lose up to $300 million. Next comes the Swedish brand H&M – $ 190 million (brand representatives have already confirmed the cancellation), the Japanese chain Uniqlo and the French Decathlon – up to 150-170 million.

As one of the Kommersant experts noted, this option is considered “conservative”: foreign retailers lose even more if they can’t sell the rest.
