Karlovy Vary to celebrate Geoffrey Rush, Benicio Del Toro

Jeffrey Rush and Benicio del Toro will be honored at the 56th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), which will take place from 1 to 9 July against the backdrop of the beautiful spa town of the Czech Republic.

Australian actor Rashi will receive the Festival’s Crystal Globe for his outstanding artistic contribution to world cinema.

Del Toro will receive the KVIFF Presidential Award for actors, directors and producers who have made a fundamental contribution to the development of film and cinematography.

This year’s edition will feature 160 feature films and short films in 13 sections, 34 films will have their world premieres.

In other KVIFF news, the festival also saw the participation of all key members of the jury.

The main jury of the Globe of Glass competition includes Argentine director Benjamin Domenech, German director Jan-Ole Gerster, Polish distributor and festival organizer Roman Gutek, international sales agent and producer Fiorella Morethen, and Danigel Still Moniel and Danigel Still Moniel Filigree and Danigel Filigl Mogel Phil.

The jury of the new Proxima competition, which will replace the previous East-West competition, includes Filipino producer Bianca Balbuena, Icelandic documentary director Irsa Roca Fanberg, Czech music journalist, director and writer Pavel Kluszak and American distributor Maibroslibor მა b.
