Jennifer didn’t make a loud statement about Emma’s right to self-determination, but used the pronoun “they/they” when inviting her onto the stage.
After such a show, Emma came out to her mother in a pink outfit and a rainbow microphone, which left the audience in no doubt that it was some kind of exit.
