96 % of the oceans were affected by extreme heat

According to a new study, excessive heat affecting most of the oceans in 2023 can be a turning point for the climate of the world, according to live science.

In 2023, scientists used satellite observations and data on ocean circulation to evaluate the scale of abnormal sea waves. This year, some have found that new records have been identified in the temperature, time and geographical scope that have not been observed since the 1950s.

“Global warming in the ocean has become one of the most serious threats for marine ecosystems,” Ryan Walter, a maritime biologist from California Polytechnic State University.

Excessive phenomena also lead to the expansion of the habitats of some species. For example, an increase in the water temperature on the coast of the California province brought the equatorial toxic sea snakes: “These marine snakes, who often live in the equatorial part of the Pacific Ocean, can follow warm waters up to the south and even Middle California.”

Recently, because of abnormal heat, plantation matches have been greatly affected and this leads to a world deficit.
