An international team of researchers found a difference between people who lived alone throughout their lives and those who were in relationships. This is linked not only to the level of happiness but also to the character of the individual. The scientific study was published in the journal Psychological Science.

More than 77 thousand people over the age of 50 from 27 countries participated in the research. It turns out that single people are much less satisfied with life, they are also less extroverted, conscientious and less open to new experiences.
One of the main findings of the study was that single people, especially the elderly, may face serious health and financial problems, so they need additional support from loved ones.
By the way, another interesting study showed that men and women have completely different attitudes towards loneliness. Read more about this in our material.
