The athlete admitted that dancing helps him cope with negative emotions. “Dance heals the body, soul and emotions. This is a time when you can heal internal and physical problems for yourself. After my leg injury, I almost couldn’t walk. But thanks to dance, I can not only feel my legs, I can also hit flamenco elements with it. This is very valuable because before I was even afraid to step on it,” Laysan shared.

The TV presenter added that dancing helped her after pregnancy. Utyasheva did not even want to think about the fact that she would train hard in the gym again. “I needed not only to reshape my body, but also to get rid of the depression that had accompanied me since I lost my mother,” the gymnast admitted. The star noted that she lives and breathes during rehearsals, and feels tired when she returns to reality and does “adult things.”

The foundation’s clients also talked about dance therapy. So, a girl named Lusine admitted that she learned about a serious diagnosis at the age of 27. According to him, the treatment was difficult: “Chemotherapy has a cumulative effect: with each new course it became more difficult, I spent more time in the hospital. But the biggest challenge was losing my hair.”

Dance helped him cope with the challenges of his illness. When Lusine felt bad, she would come into the room, turn on loud music from her headphones and start dancing. “I can’t reveal myself by dancing in front of people, but once I’m alone with myself, that’s it. It’s like I’m changing,” summarized the special project participant. Find out how dance helps the foundation’s other beneficiaries here.

By the way, we also have materials aimed at combating oncology. It features the stories of three women who survived breast cancer.
