Warner Bros. It has signed a deal with Korean studio producer CJ ENM to remake Bong Joon Ho’s Oscar-winning Parasite and Celine Song’s Past Lives. Variety reports this.
Through the new agreement, the company will create and distribute English-language adaptations of Korean films, and CJ ENM will do the same with films from an American studio. Each will fully control the production of the remakes, but retain the right to creative intervention (appointing the director, actors, screenwriters, and establishing the budget).
Warner Bros. CJ will be the distributor of remakes worldwide, except in the countries where ENM operates: South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia and Türkiye.
Warner Bros. to your collection. It contains more than 12.5 thousand movies, from “Casablanca” to “Barbie”. CJ ENM is Korea’s largest media and entertainment conglomerate and its collection includes the popular “The Handmaiden” among others.
