Research: What kind of jobs do Zoomers dream of?

Consultancy firm KPMG3 conducted a study in which 400 young trainees talked about what they really want from work and what they fear. It turns out that many are afraid of artificial intelligence and dream of working four days a week.

For starters, zoomers don’t want to work at all. But it’s not just that they’re lazy: Young people just want to have the opportunity to impact the world, go beyond their job responsibilities and do something useful. They need a specific task, not a daily routine.

Zoomers’ priorities include a high-quality corporate culture (64%), a sense of belonging (37%) and the opportunity to volunteer and receive mentoring (34%). In terms of personal comfort at work, young people value remote working and flexible work schedules the most.

Zoomers’ main fear is that they could be replaced by artificial intelligence (82%), and three in four interns believe that 20% of jobs would be automated anyway if they were given a full-time job.
