Last week I shared with you the recipe for homemade Carambar. Since I’m a monomaniac and I want to start a series on caramels, I’m sharing with you the one on rice and caramel pudding. Don’t thank me, it makes me happy.
The recipe for caramel rice pudding, with your fingers in your nose
To make this recipe you will need:
- 100 g of rice
- 150 g of sugar
- 1 vanilla pod (or a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring)
- 1 liter of milk (preferably whole)
- Start by making a little caramel. Don’t panic, it’s quite simple, just put 75 g of sugar and 5 teaspoons of water in a saucepan. Then pour the caramel into a baking dish (a large one, or small molds).
- In another saucepan, boil the milk with the vanilla and the remaining sugar for 10 minutes, stirring often.
- All right ? Come on, pour your mixture over the caramel and put everything in the oven for 45 minutes at 180°C.
What if the movie you were going to see tonight was a dump? Each week, Kalindi Ramphul gives you her opinion on which movie to see (or not) on the show The Only Opinion That Matters.
