It’s a nice surprise, which we didn’t expect at all: MoanaOR Moana in the American version, it will have a sequel, and will arrive in theaters in November.
A teaser and a release date
Disney announced it in a press release this Wednesday 7 February: it’s official, we will be able to find Maui and Moana again in what we already imagine will be an epic adventure.
Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, said:
Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise. And we can’t wait to tell you more about Moana and Maui when Moana 2 will be released in theaters in November.
But Moana 2, what will it be about? Disney provides some information:
“After receiving an unexpected calling from her orienteer ancestors, Moana must travel to the distant seas of Oceania and the dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she has ever experienced.“
To make our mouths water even more, a (very) short teaser was also revealed:
Directed by Dave Derrick Jr. with music by Grammy Award winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy Award nominee Opetaia Foa’i and three-time Grammy Award winner Mark Mancina. Vaniana 2 will be released in theaters on November 27, 2024.
