Anne Hathaway became a meme: the actress accidentally repeated a scene from the movie “The Devil Wears Prada” in real life

Yesterday, the world-famous publishing house Condé Nast (Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, etc.) announced that its employees would go on strike. The fact is that the CEO of the company decided to reduce layoffs by 5%, which, of course, could not please his colleagues. Nearly 400 people working at Condé Nast went on a 24-hour strike at the company’s headquarters in New York during the announcement of the Oscar nominations.

Anne Hathaway was among the first global stars to support the protest by Condé Nast employees. The actress was supposed to appear in Vanity Fair magazine, but while preparing for the photo shoot, she learned about the polish workers’ strike. The movie star left the set without hesitation.

“They haven’t even started taking photos yet,” a source told Variety. “As soon as the mother found out what was going on, she got up and left with her hair and makeup.” The social network X (formerly Twitter) immediately remembered the last scene of the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”, in which Anne Hathaway played the main role. Her heroine decided to leave a glossy fashion magazine, and at the end of the film, at the call of her boss, she proudly threw her phone into the fountain. This scene seems truly symbolic today, considering that Condé Nast creative director Anna Wintour was associated with Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada.
