The ingredients that make up the recipe
To make healthy banana bread you need:
- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs
- 85 ml maple syrup (avoid honey, which will tend to brown your cake too quickly)
- 125g unflavoured Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 250 g of wholemeal flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 85 g of melted and then cooled butter (you can also use olive oil or coconut oil).
- 80 g of dark chocolate chips
- 80 g of walnuts

Banana bread recipe step by step
Step 1 : Preheat the oven to 170°C.
Step 2 : In a bowl, mash the bananas and mix them with the eggs, maple syrup, Greek yogurt and vanilla extract.
Step n.3 : In another bowl, mix all the dry foods: flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
Step #4 : Gently mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Then add the melted and cooled butter.
Step #5 : At this point you can add the hazelnuts and dark chocolate chips.
Step #6 : Pour the dough into the previously buttered and floured mold, then cut a ripe banana in two and delicately place them on the dough.
Step n.7 : Bake the cake for 50-60 minutes. Once cooked, let it rest for 10 minutes before turning it out, then it’s ready!
