When you were a child, you might have told your parents what you thought of their clothes. In the case of Kim Kardashian, whose entire life is hypermediatized, it turns out that her daughter North West’s opinion can quickly garner millions of views.
North West presents a Schiaparelli dress in front of its artistic director Daniel Roseberry
This is what just happened in her reality show, where we see the founder of the Skims brand trying on her outfit for the 2023 Met Gala. It is a haute couture creation by Schiaparelli, artistically directed by Daniel Roseberry. The latter is then present at the test when Kim Kardashian asks her daughter what she thinks of her dress, warning the district attorney that North West can be very critical. The child then responds:
“Well, it could be better. […] There are too many spaces between the beads. […] She looks like a Hawaiian woman in a beach dress. […] The pearls look fake.[…] It’s very seaside. […] Diamonds ruin everything. »
While Kim Kardashian tries to play down the situation, Daniel Roseberry responds:
“This is truly my worst nightmare come true. »
“I like pearls. I just don’t like the fact that they look like they came from a $1 store… » adds North West, with disarming frankness, while Daniel Roseberry looks at the camera so mortified that it almost seems like a sketch from the comedy series The office.
Kim Kardashian then tries to explain to North West that there are other ways to say you don’t like something without hurting other people’s feelings, before this funny-meets-awkward streak ends. And it immediately went viral on TikTok, Twitter and Instagram. Whether we like this Kim Kardashian dress or not, the fact remains that she becomes a real publicity stunt for the Schiaparelli house and its artistic director Daniel Roseberry.
