EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of its Asian premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival, we have an excerpt from a heartbreaking Indian film Stolen about disinformation and mafia mentality.
The thriller, starring Abhishek Banerjee, will be screened at the festival on November 29, 31 and 2 after its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and screenings in Zurich and London. It is based on real events and covers topics such as child abductions, the spread of misinformation, mob mentality, public lynching and social divisions.
The clip is a brief but intense look at the horrific aftermath of a rioting mob brutally attacking Banerjee’s character Gautam. The film follows the aftermath of the kidnapping of an impoverished mother’s five-month-old child, as wealthy brothers Gautam and Raman embark on a harrowing journey to help her.

The clip reveals the raw intensity and authenticity that is the essence of the film.
