Starz said today it is working with Amazon to bundle with MGM+ on Prime Video in the US
This subscription bundle, Starz’s first, will launch in the coming weeks for $11.99 per month — a 20% discount off the combined price of both individual plans. The bundle deal is part of a new long-term deal between Starz and Amazon.
“We are excited to work with Amazon to bring Starz to millions of customers on Prime Video with MGM+,” said Alison Hoffman, President, Domestic Networks at Starz. “Starz is an add-on service to general entertainment, so we’re excited to see the bundling here now and believe there will be many more bundling opportunities to come.”
Starz series owned by Lionsgate include Outlander, the power universe, P-Valley and upcoming new seasons of party off And blind spot. Starz’s flagship national services, including Starz Encore, 17 premium pay TV channels and related on-demand and online services are also accessible.
MGM+ original premium content includes series Godfather of HaarlemScience fiction horror Ofwestern adventure Billy the boy and drama series A spy among friends, War of the Worlds, Rogue HeroesAnd Belgravia. The network also offers documentaries Laurel Canyon, Murf the Surf, Helter Skelter, Slow Burn, My life is like a rolling stone NFL symbolsAnd Blumhouse’s compendium of horrors.
Contains premium movies Top Gun: Maverick; MGM’s No time to die And House of Gucciand the James Bond and Rocky franchises.
Liongate brass teased the bundle announcement on a post-earnings conference call last week. Bundled services tend to have a lower churn rate. Liongate and Starz are parting ways, with plans to announce details in March and split studio operations in September.
