We often talk about the impact of the 90s/2000s on the panorama of fashion and beauty of the moment. What is less talked about, however, are the 80s, which as well creates many trends who scored the last ten, twenty, thirty and even forty!
And if some return more or less discreetly, the arrival of TikTok in our lives has nonetheless it has increased the visibility of several beauty trends that would have gone more or less unnoticed in the past. This is the case with the return of the banana clip.
We can already see you rolling your eyes wondering what that is. Well, there you have it, the banana clip is a curved clip whose teeth meet to hold hair in a ponytail. A very useful tool on days when laziness is much more powerful than the desire to style your hair.
If you have watched the series The lady is served, you may have seen this accessory on Alyssa Milano more than once. But if you were born in the late 90s or early 2000s, it may very well be completely unfamiliar to you.

The banana clip: the accessory that is all the rage on TikTok
For several weeks, on TikTok, we have seen dozens of videos appearing of Internet users trying the banana clip on their hair. One of them, Adara Tran, wanted to try the experiment to get more length when her hair is tied back. She and she is delighted with this test:
“TikTok made me buy this. I am happy. My hair looks much longer.
@adaratran I normally use the black one but the white banana clip was easier to show how to put it in #fyp #bananaclip

An opinion shared by stylist Chloe Swigert of He + Loe Studio in Delray Beach, Florida; she explains to rhythm That :
“Tweezers are much gentler on hair than rubber bands and don’t create weird bumps, so they’re a better choice if you don’t want to mess up your curls.” »
A good alternative to classic rubber bands
The problem of the classic rubber bands, is that they often have a metal part that breaks the hair. Very tight, they are difficult to remove, which creates lacerations. If you want to create a quick and aesthetic ponytail, then the banana clip is the perfect choice. Extremely easy to use, it collects hair in less than 10 seconds which comes in very handy on days when combing your hair feels like a real ordeal.

The banana clip is nice, but…
If you have curly hair naturally tangled on their own, this clamp will probably cause you more pain than anything else. Because it features many fine and narrow teeth, it does not forgive the slightest knot at the risk of literally pulling your hair out.
In this case, a simple silk or satin elastic will suit you. A little less clamor for much more serenity.
