Exclusive: Plimsoll Productions, AppleTV + production company a tiny planet and netflix Animal, Martha Holmes strengthens her science by being promoted to Creative Director in Natural History and Science.
Former Blue Planet Producer Holmes, who plays the upcoming Disney + series At the limit with Alex Honold Incidentally, moving as the head of natural history, he joined Plimsol from BBC Studios’ natural history division (NHU) when Grant Mansfield founded it nearly a decade ago.
Mansfield reports that the new Holmes division has 150 employees, a large number for an independent manufacturing company.
He will continue to oversee natural history while pursuing in-depth sciences at Plimsol and serve on the Plimsol Board as one of the three executive directors.
Most recently, he played a key role in the Benedict Cumberbatch / James Cameron production. Super / natural For Disney + and National Geographic great migrations.
“Martha is one of the most respected and innovative players in unwritten space and has redefined natural history and wildlife fun,” said Mansfield. “He and I now see a great new opportunity to bring these skills into the popular science space.”
According to a recent independent study, Plimsoll is produced in 20 series and occupies 13% of the global natural history market share, 17% behind NHU.
