Cast and storyline details

The narrative of La Tribu centers on Silvano, played by Carlos Carlin, who wants nothing more than to quietly celebrate the birthday of his wife Tere, played by Alejandra Guerra. However, the simple family gathering transforms into a domestic battlefield when their three adult children arrive accompanied by their respective partners.

The production features an ensemble cast of recognized Peruvian actors. Nicolas Galindo plays Ettore, Jely Reategui portrays Belen, Oscar Meza appears as Diego, Diego Perez plays Filippo, Luciana Arispe plays Giulia, and Alejandro Villagomez appears as Guille.

Through these characters, the film addresses complex family dynamics, enduring personal bonds, and the inevitable friction that tests everyday coexistence. What begins as a modest celebration devolves into a weekend filled with entanglements, revelations, old resentments, and unhidden secrets, combining emotional closeness with situational humor under the central premise that no family is perfect, but it remains family.

Lead actor Carlos Carlin is a veteran Peruvian comedic actor and television presenter, widely known in Peru for his long career in television comedies and stage plays. Actress Alejandra Guerra is an acclaimed performer with extensive credits across theater, television, and feature films. Supporting cast members Nicolas Galindo and Jely Reategui are also familiar figures to Peruvian television and theater audiences.

From stage play to feature film

The story of La Tribu originated on the theatrical stage. Written by playwright Italo Cordano, the original play premiered in 2024 under the joint direction of Cordano and Bruno Ascenzo. After completing three successful theatrical seasons in Lima, the creators decided to adapt the stage material for a commercial feature film.

To transition the project from stage to screen, the creators partnered with film producer Enid Pinky Campos and actor Carlos Carlin. The project subsequently expanded its production structure, with prominent Peruvian theater company Los Productores coming on board as coproducers and media entrepreneur Phillip Chu Joy joining as an associate producer.

Director Bruno Ascenzo is a leading figure in contemporary Peruvian entertainment, having written and directed popular Peruvian box office comedies including A los 40, Soltera Codiciada, and the Netflix original feature film Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar. Producer Enid Pinky Campos is one of the most prolific film producers in Peru, while Los Productores is among the country's foremost commercial theater production companies.
