Kremlin Says US-Mediated Ukraine Peace Talks Stalled

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said peace efforts for Ukraine are stalled as intense military strikes hit infrastructure in both countries.

Kremlin Says US-Mediated Ukraine Peace Talks Stalled

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov admitted on Friday that no new proposals exist to end the war in Ukraine, describing the peace process mediated by the United States as completely stalled.

Peskov added that the Ukrainian government perfectly understands the demands set by Moscow to reach a settlement.

The Kremlin serves as the executive seat of the Russian government in Moscow. Peskov has acted as its official spokesman for over a decade, outlining Russia's official stance on foreign policy and military strategy.

Air Strikes and Refinery Attacks

The spokesman made his comments during another day of heavy military strikes exchanged between Russian and Ukrainian forces across multiple fronts.

Russian military officials said their air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 512 Ukrainian drones overnight during widespread aerial raids.

Officials in Kyiv reported that Ukrainian forces struck an oil refinery located 250 kilometers from Moscow, targeting energy infrastructure deep inside Russian territory.

Reports also detailed strikes on missile storage warehouses and vital port facilities located in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and the Black Sea port city of Odessa.

In addition, an attack targeted a Russian Tu-95MS missile-carrier aircraft stationed at the Engels air base. The Tu-95MS is a heavy strategic bomber used by the Russian military to launch long-range cruise missiles.

Evacuation Call in Kherson

From southern Ukraine, local officials in the Kherson region issued a dramatic appeal for civilians to flee escalating bombardment.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the regional official in Kherson, published an urgent warning to local residents on the Telegram messaging network.

Prokudin urged residents, particularly families with children and elderly individuals, to evacuate the area immediately if they have the opportunity to do so.

He warned that enemy forces are stepping up their daily attacks against critical infrastructure across the southern region.

Kherson sits along the Dnipro River in southern Ukraine and has remained a frequent target of heavy artillery and drone bombardment since Russian forces withdrew across the river in late 2022.
