Kiko Rivera returned to hospital in Seville this week for routine tests, a month after suffering a second stroke, but once again managed to avoid the reporters staked outside waiting for him.
The DJ, son of singer Isabel Pantoja, had a scheduled appointment on Monday with his trusted doctor at the Hospital Sagrado Corazón, who wanted to check on his recovery. Rivera slipped past the cameras and microphones stationed outside without being seen or photographed, though his girlfriend, Lola García, was spotted leaving the clinic and driving off to collect him.
A second, more serious stroke
Rivera was admitted to the Hospital Sagrado Corazón five weeks ago after suffering a second stroke, which was more serious than the first one he had in 2021 and from which he is still recovering. He continues to deal with after-effects from that earlier stroke, which have forced him to change his lifestyle and abandon habits that had previously landed him in the emergency room.
Since the second stroke, Rivera has stopped granting interviews and has refused to answer questions from journalists about his health and recovery, whom he blames directly for contributing to the stress that led to his hospitalisation. He is expected to address the subject only once he feels ready and stronger, presumably through an exclusive interview, but has made clear that time has not yet come.
Rivera has previously used the media to air disputes with the mothers of his children, Irene Rosales and Jessica Bueno, who have in turn responded publicly to his comments.
Dodging cameras at Hospital Sagrado Corazón
Monday's visit was for routine tests carried out a month after his hospital admission. Reporters and camera crews positioned outside the Hospital Sagrado Corazón in Seville were unable to capture any images of Rivera or get him to comment.
Lola García, however, was seen leaving the clinic with a firm stride, walking straight to a car parked outside to collect her partner and drive away. The moment caught the attention of photographers from Europa Press.
García adopted the same approach as Rivera, declining to answer any questions and focusing only on starting the car, picking up Anabel Pantoja's cousin, and leaving the area quickly. The reason for the hospital visit was not disclosed, though it was presumably a scheduled check-up or a rehabilitation session related to the after-effects of the stroke.
Recovery and family life
There are no visible signs that the after-effects of the second stroke are stopping Rivera from living a normal life. He has been seen driving himself and has continued to appear in public in Seville, always accompanied by García.
In recent days the couple have been seen in Huelva enjoying food and time at the beach, and later doing the same on the Cádiz coast, alongside keeping up with routine commitments in Seville. Meanwhile, Rivera's eldest son is in Gran Canaria with his grandmother, Isabel Pantoja.
