Media veteran Julia Morris stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 Logie Awards on Sunday, wearing an ivory ensemble while displaying her arm tattoos.
The 58-year-old television presenter had fans doing a double take as she hammed it up for photographers at the venue. Her gown featured a structured bodice and a billowing train, which contrasted against her alabaster complexion as she raised her arms to highlight the artwork.
The Logie Awards, presented annually by TV Week, are Australia's premier television industry honors, recognizing outstanding talent and popular programs across commercial networks and public broadcasters. Morris was making her high-profile arrival at the ceremony after a weekend of unexpected headlines.
Over recent years, Morris has chosen to ink her body with personal designs celebrating her family. Her expanding collection includes a fine-line octopus designed by her eldest daughter, Ruby, alongside two hearts, three intertwining circles, paw prints, and a row of animals wearing top hats.
Early Arrival at Sydney Venue
The red carpet appearance followed a momentary mix-up on Saturday afternoon, when Morris turned up at the ceremony venue a day early. She arrived at The Star Sydney, a premier casino and entertainment complex in Pyrmont, expecting the event to be underway.
Realizing her mistake inside an empty auditorium, Morris shared a comedic video clip to her Instagram page capturing the quiet space ahead of Sunday's formal broadcast.
"Guys, I've made a terrible mistake! Apparently the Logies is tomorrow. I'm literally the only one here!"
Morris explained in the video as she panned across the vacant seating. She laughed at the camera before adding, "Until tomorrow... the Logies is not today!"
Nominations and Farewell to Reality Show
Sunday's ceremony placed Morris in direct competition with her former co-host Robert Irwin for the Gold Logie Award, officially known as the TV Week Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. Irwin, 22, the wildlife conservationist and presenter who co-hosted Channel 10's reality series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia with Morris, shared social media photographs earlier in the day showing the dapper outfit he prepared for his hosting duties.
The competitive nomination arrived months after Network 10 decided to cancel I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia, ending a 12-year run for the franchise. When nominations were announced in January, Morris reflected on the conclusion of her long tenure on the show.
"It's the end of an era. I probably won't notice the heartbreak until it's time to go to the jungle,"
Morris told Daily Mail at the time. "It was 12 years in a row - and that jungle saved my life on so many different levels. How could I not be anything but grateful?"
She added, "I gotta go and find some work, if you know what I'm saying."
Gold Logie and Presenter Category Winners
At the 66th TV Week Logie Awards ceremony, comedian and presenter Sam Pang took home the night's top honor, winning the Gold Logie Award. Pang prevailed over a competitive field of nominees that included Morris, Irwin, journalist Ally Langdon, ABC presenter Lisa Millar, television judge Poh Ling Yeow, and sports host Todd Woodbridge.
Irwin was also honored during the evening, winning the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter for his work on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. In other major presenter categories, Nine Network's Ally Langdon won the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter for her work across A Current Affair, The Great Debate, and Election 2025: Australia Decides. She won over nominees David Speers, Karl Stefanovic, Michael Usher, Sarah Abo, and Sarah Ferguson. Nine Network host Jelena Dokic claimed the Bruce McAvaney Award for Most Popular Sports Presenter following her coverage of the 2026 Australian Open, 2025 Melbourne Cup, Wimbledon 2025, Roland Garros 2025, US Open 2025, and Cross Court 2025. Dokic won over nominated broadcasters Bruce McAvaney, Danika Mason, Eddie McGuire, James Bracey, and Ricky Ponting.
Drama and Acting Silver Logie Winners
The drama categories saw veteran actor Sam Neill win the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actor in a Drama for his performance in Binge and Foxtel's The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer. Neill defeated fellow nominees Hunter Page-Lochard (Reckless), Jacob Elordi (The Narrow Road to the Deep North), Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin), Rob Collins (RFDS), and Stephen Peacocke (RFDS). Brooke Satchwell won the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actress in a Drama for her role in Stan's Dear Life, prevailing over Aisha Dee (Watching You), Lila McGuire (Goolagong), Odessa Young (The Narrow Road to the Deep North), Tuuli Narkle (Mystery Road: Origin), and Yerin Ha (The Survivors).
In supporting drama roles, Simon Baker secured the Silver Logie for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for Prime Video's The Narrow Road to the Deep North, winning against Clarence Ryan, Damien Garvey, Dan Henshall, and Thomas Weatherall, who received dual nominations for Heartbreak High and The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
