Jim Curtis, the wellness coach and hypnotist dating Jennifer Aniston, has revealed he "wasn't searching for love anymore" when the pair first met, offering a rare glimpse into their romance.
Curtis, who has now been with the actress for over a year, said they were in a "months-long friendship" before officially becoming a couple.
"There was a many-month friendship first," he told The Sunday Times Magazine.
He went on to say: "The drive was more natural, more organic, less needy. In the past I've felt this idea of, 'I need you to be in love with me..' I wasn't searching for love any more. And what do I feel now? I feel real joy, real presence, real calmness, real partnership."
Curtis said he arrived at that outlook after a divorce and a string of failed relationships.

Romance rumours between Aniston and Curtis first surfaced in May 2025. Aniston made the relationship Instagram official last November, marking Curtis's birthday with a black and white photo of herself hugging him from behind.
She captioned the image: "Happy birthday, my love. Cherished ❤️."
Curtis, best known for his work as a hypnotist and wellness coach, also marked his 50th birthday across two posts on his own account. One caption read: "50 and feeling good! Birthday recap part 1. Thank you for all the wishes and love. So grateful for you my friends, family and community."
A second, more romantic post featured a wider shot of the same photo Aniston had shared, with the note: "If this is a dream I don't want to wake up. ❤️."
Promoting his new book
Earlier this month, the couple put their relationship on full display when Aniston hosted a Q&A with Curtis to promote his book, The Book Of Possibility.
Inside their 'dependable partnership'
On Wednesday, insiders gave Us Weekly further insight into the state of the couple's romance, claiming that Aniston and Curtis have "moved beyond the excitement of a new relationship and are developing a genuine partnership."
The pair are said to have "an ease about them that's infectious," which the source said comes from feeling accepted by one another rather than needing to impress each other.
"They are more trusting and less guarded," the insider explained. "They are just as comfortable discussing difficult subjects as they are being vulnerable with each other. It's grown from an exciting connection to a dependable partnership."
The insider added that Aniston's friends are impressed by how "naturally" the couple's lives have blended together despite coming from totally different worlds.
Pals are also said to be convinced that part of the couple's success comes from Curtis not being part of the entertainment industry, and instead focusing on "his own thing."
Aniston is best known for playing Rachel Green on the long-running sitcom Friends, one of the most watched television shows of the 1990s and 2000s.
