Former child actor Jeremy Licht was spotted stepping out with his wife, Kimberly Wallis, during a weekend outing in Los Angeles. The 55-year-old actor, best known for playing Jason Bateman's brainy brother on the popular 1980s sitcom The Hogan Family, dressed casually as he walked alongside Wallis, 56.
The California native kept it casual in a blue T-shirt paired with grey shorts and completed his summer-friendly outfit with a pair of slides. His once-luscious dark hair was cropped short and appeared noticeably thinner, and the entertainer kept his eyes shielded with a pair of sunglasses.
Wallis showed off her legs during the walk in a pair of denim shorts paired with a grey tank top. She topped off the casual look with a black hat, wearing her brunette hair pulled back into a ponytail.
Licht and Wallis have been married since 2007 and share two children together. He was previously married to Carol-Ann Plante from 1996 until 2001. Wallis is also an actress, having appeared in episodes of the television dramas CSI: NY and Charmed.
Life after sitcom stardom
The father-of-two stepped away from acting in 2004 to pursue a career as an independent life and medical insurance agent in California. However, Licht has returned to the screen in recent years for select acting projects.
His most recent acting credit was in the 2025 short film Star-Crossed. His other notable screen credits include the 2023 short mystery thriller Seat 23B, the 1980 TV movie The Comeback Kid alongside John Ritter, the 1981 TV movie All the Way Home alongside Sally Field and William Hurt, and Twilight Zone: The Movie with Kathleen Quinlan.
History of The Hogan Family
Licht gained national prominence starring alongside Jason Bateman on The Hogan Family, which ran for six seasons from 1986 to 1991. The television series originally debuted under the title Valerie, focusing on Valerie Harper as Valerie Hogan, a mother balancing work at an auction house, raising her three sons, and dealing with her pilot husband's frequent absences from home.
Her sons were played by Bateman as David, Licht as Mark, and Danny Ponce as Willie. Harper left the show after two seasons following a salary dispute with producers. Actress Sandy Duncan subsequently joined the cast as Sandy Hogan, the boys' aunt who moved into the household as their surrogate mother.
Following Harper's departure, the series was retitled Valerie's Family: The Hogans for its third season before officially becoming The Hogan Family for its final three seasons on television.
Reflections on working with Jason Bateman
In June, Licht spoke about his relationship with Bateman, noting that his co-star became like an older brother to him on set despite occasional arguments. "I have in real life a younger brother, so all of a sudden I had an older brother," Licht told Remind Magazine.
Licht praised Bateman's technical skill and professionalism on set. "Jason was great, [an] unbelievable professional, knew so much about, especially sitcoms," he said. "I had never really done a sitcom. I'd done an episode of something before, but never a sitcom and all of a sudden I'm booked on this show and he just knew timing." He added, "To this day, his timing is good. His cadence in everything is just amazing."
Addressing the working environment among the young actors, Licht admitted that tension occasionally arose. "Was it always easy? No. We had three boys who were pre-and actively pubescent and of a certain age. And were there times that we fought and argued? Absolutely. Were we always showing up to rehearsals and professional? Absolutely," he said.
He noted that five years together fostered direct communication. "Because we experienced five years together, there can also be brutal honesty when things are challenging," Licht explained. "I love Jason and all of them, and my experience was all good."
Licht added that the cast remains close today, stating, "We still end up going to lunch every six months or so when we can all get our acts and schedules together."
