The sweat-inducing battle brought out Foxx's competitive side as he kept his undivided attention on the ball, standing in a ready position at the edge of the court with his racket in hand and determination on his face. The actor used his T-shirt as a makeshift towel at one point before flashing a pleased smile during a lull in the game.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Foxx for comment but has not yet heard back.

Expecting third child

The game comes amid a major personal milestone for Foxx, who is expecting his first child with his girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp. In May, sources confirmed to TMZ that the couple were already several months along in their pregnancy journey, after rekindling their romance last year.

Foxx is already a father to two daughters. He shares 32-year-old Corinne, who was born in 1994, with his ex Connie Kline, and 17-year-old Anelise with his ex Kristin Grannis.

The actor and Huckstepp, an Australian former fitness model and entrepreneur, first sparked a romance in 2023. The relationship began following Foxx's six-year relationship with 47-year-old Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes, which came to an end in 2019.

A source close to Foxx told PEOPLE in January 2025 that he and Huckstepp were no longer together after dating for a year and a half. However, they ramped up reconciliation rumours during a public outing together in April.

Near-fatal stroke

The couple's baby joy comes three years after Foxx almost died from a stroke caused by a bleed on the brain. He was rushed to A&E with a mystery medical complication in April 2023, which his family decided to keep private at the time.

Huckstepp was a pillar of support to the actor during his near-fatal health crisis. A source told In Touch in March 2024 that she was totally there for him when he got sick, and they got very close after that.

In December 2024, Foxx revealed exactly what happened to him during an emotional scene on his Netflix special, What Had Happened Was... The Oscar-winning actor confessed: "I don't remember 20 days," and admitted he was unable to walk amid the terrifying health battle.

He recalled having a bad headache on April 11 and asking his boy for Aspirin. "I realised quickly that when you're in a medical emergency, your boys don't know what the f**k to do," he said.

Waking from coma

Foxx credited his sister Deidra with saving his life, saying she drove him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, where he underwent a life-saving procedure.

Addressing why his family wanted to keep details of his health scare to themselves, he said: "I was dizzy from the stroke, so my head would bob around, and my family thought everyone would 'meme the f***' out of me."

Foxx said he vividly remembered waking up from his coma on May 4. "When I woke up, I found myself in a wheelchair. I couldn't walk," he said. He did not want to believe he had suffered a stroke, recounting his therapist telling him about his ego: "You need to kill the old Jamie so the new Jamie can thrive."

After starting a sentence with "What had happened was," Foxx broke down in tears and was comforted by the applauding audience. Declaring he was back, he told the crowd: "You don't know how good this feels."

He said his life did not flash before him and it was oddly peaceful. "Your life doesn't flash before you. It was kind of oddly peaceful. I saw the tunnel, but I didn't see the light. It was hot in that tunnel," he said, before quipping: "S**t, am I going to the wrong place?"

Foxx admitted it was still a mystery what led to the brain bleed, adding: "We still don't know exactly what happened to me."

"God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke," he reflected.
