Greek actor Tassos Halkias has spoken out after his home was destroyed in the wildfire burning through Porto Germeno, describing the loss as the ruin of a life’s work built through years of personal effort and sacrifice.
Speaking on the morning programme Proti Enimerosia on Sunday, Halkias said the destruction was not only material but carried deep personal and psychological consequences. He said he had poured his blood into building the house and that all of it had now gone to waste.
The actor stressed that the loss touched his personal toil, his mental state, his health, and his overall wellbeing. He also noted his case was far from unique, pointing out that around 200 other homes burned alongside his, and that those families deserved to be heard as well.
