Greek hospitality group Grecotel won the top prize of Hotel and Resort Operator of the Year at the TTG Travel Industry Awards in London.
The award ceremony took place at The Roadhouse venue in Camden, London, marking the third consecutive year that Grecotel has been recognized at the TTG Luxury Awards.
Grecotel took the top honor in the hotel operator category ahead of major international hospitality chains, including Hyatt, Ikos, and TUI Hotels and Resorts.
The judging panel described Grecotel as a company that never stops evolving. Panel members said the award recognized the group for supporting its partners through its Elite and Ambassador programs, generating sales growth, maintaining guest satisfaction, and implementing documented sustainability initiatives.
Organizers highlighted Greek identity during the event in London by serving authentic Greek dishes to guests and international travel industry partners.
Awards and Industry Recognition
Grecotel is one of the largest luxury hotel operators in Greece, running coastal resorts, historic boutique properties, and city hotels. The group operates under the motto Hotels and Resorts to Live, focusing on authentic Greek hospitality. The TTG Travel Industry Awards, organized by Travel Trade Gazette in Great Britain, are regarded as one of the UK travel sector's primary award programs.
The latest award adds to several international accolades received by Grecotel in 2026. Earlier in the year, the company was named Luxury Hotel Company of the Year at the TTG Luxury Travel Awards and won Luxury Brand of the Year at the Aspire Awards.
Individual hotels within the Grecotel portfolio also secured major international rankings. The Dolli in Athens was voted the top city hotel in Athens and fifth best in Europe by readers of Travel and Leisure magazine. The hotel also retained two Michelin Keys for a second straight year, a global distinction awarded by the Michelin Guide for outstanding hotel experiences.
In addition, the group's coastal resort Cape Sounio, located near the historic peninsula south of Athens, earned a place on Tatler magazine's list of the 101 best hotels in the world.
Hotel Investment and Expansion Plans
The recognition comes as Grecotel carries out an extensive hotel investment program across Greece throughout 2026. The capital plan includes the opening of the brand new Creta Palace resort in Rethymno, on the island of Crete, and the reopening of ATHENA Pallas in central Athens following a major renovation.
The group is also completing the five-star Filoxenia hotel in Kalamata, located in the Peloponnese region. Further expansion projects include the LUXME Kos resort in the Dodecanese island chain and the redevelopment of the Astir Palace hotel in the northern city of Alexandroupoli.
